The first Asian to be certified by the Matchmaking Institute in New York City, Violet has gained tremendous insight into the dating and matchmaking industry and is the pioneer in her field. She has appeared in over 4000 media coverages in top local and international media such as The Straits Times, ABC News 20|20, CNBC Asia, BBC, Bloomberg and Radio Australia.
On top of her role as CEO and spokesperson of Viola.AI and Lunch Actually Group, Violet is serving as a Chapter President of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Singapore. She’s also a Winner at Women Entrepreneur Award 2017 in Singapore; an established award that recognizes her for her achievement in demonstrating outstanding entrepreneurial qualities.
She also sits on the board of Matchmaking Institute and is the Executive Director and the Principal Trainer of Matchmaking Institute of South East Asia where she trains matchmakers and aspiring matchmakers from all around Asia. She is a past President at the Rotary Club of Suntec City and a current Committee Member of Shirin Fodzar.
Violet has a Masters degree in Industrial Relations and Personal Management from the London School of Economics, United Kingdom and she read law at the University of Manchester from 1998 – 2001.
Violet is happily married to her university sweetheart cum business partner Jamie, and they have two young children, Corum and Cara. Having been blessed with a fulfilling marriage and enriching family life, Violet’s life goal is to create 1 million happy marriages. She believes that Viola.AI will transform the global dating and relationship landscape by helping billions of people create better lifetime relationships.

Violet Lim is CEO & Co-Founder of Lunch Actually, Asia’s first lunch dating company that aims to help busy professionals find love by arranging one-to-one lunch dates with compatible matches among the pre-screened clientele who meet each other’s dating criteria. The Malaysian and Hong Kong office follows in the success of Lunch Actually’s premier operations in Singapore, started in April 2004. As a dating consultant, Violet meets and matches the clients based on similar interests, likes, dislikes and physical and profile preferences.
Upon observation of her family, friends and colleagues having little time for love due to their busy schedules, Violet thought the idea of lunch dating would be a perfect solution for busy professionals. Having gained little personal satisfaction in her former work, Violet left her previous job as an Assistant Manager with an international finance institution (2002-2003) and a stable monthly income to start-up her own matchmaking business called Lunch Actually with her then fiance, now husband Mr. Jamie Lee.
In February 2004, Violet attended a matchmaking course and seminar conducted by the Matchmaking Institute, New York City, that prepared her for her new career in matchmaking and gave her insight into the dating and matchmaking industry. She is the first Asian to be certified by the Institute.
Violet was a Relationship Q&A columnist with one of Malaysia’s leading magazine Cittabella and New Man. Violet has been featured extensively in both Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong media, as well as international media such as ABC News 20|20, TV Tokyo and Radio Australia.
In 2002, Violet graduated with a Masters in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the London School of Economics, United Kingdom. Prior to that, she read Law (1998 – 2001) at the University of Manchester.
Violet, whose interests include reading, traveling and public speaking, is also an active participant of the Toastmaster International movement. She is the Past President of Cairnhill Toastmasters Club. She has also won numerous speech contests at the club, area and division level. She is also Past President at the Rotary Club of Suntec City.
